A new lease of life: the secret life of books [VIDEO]

Ok, so books may be so 2004. But there is something about walking into a bookstore that can be intoxicating.

Perhaps it’s the colours. Perhaps it’s prospect of discovering something new to stimulate your brain.

Perhaps it’s the fact that boutique bookstores seem to be determined to survive in the age of Kindle and iPads. And that’s something to admire. These boutique bookstores must find a way to be engaging and relevant in an increasingly digital world.

This video was put together by a small team of staff and volunteers that support a single-store bookshop, Type Books in Toronto, Canada.

Its elegant choreography and music make it mesmerising viewing.

It goes to show that you don’t need a multi million dollar budget and the back of a major company like Nike or Coke to create an engaging and shareable video. All you need is a good idea and a little help from your friends.
