This is a video, taken by a sneaky passenger on a Southwest Airlines flight from San Fransisco to Chicago about a week ago.
The passenger has filmed the pre-flight safety routine on their smart phone.
It is awesome for so many reasons. How awesome?
In less than a week, this video has been viewed more than 1.5 million times.
It is, for starters, a routine. It’s a comedy routine and a routine task that flight attendants perform frequently.
It’s a routine that this chief attendant would perform many times a day. He does this pre-flight safety check before every flight and, I’m thinking that he does a similar performance every time.
Why? Because this passenger knew to film it. So, I don’t think this is a first time flight for the passenger either.
What can an entrepreneur learn from this?
That even though you know your routine, your pitch, it is new to at least some of the people listening. So, deliver it with style. Deliver it with humour and, most importantly, be memorable.
It also shows that practice makes perfect. His timing is perfect, his jokes seem natural yet you know they are rehearsed. From start to finish, all almost five minutes of this video is brilliant. This is the sign of a well-practiced, polished performance.
If you can deliver your pitch half as well as this guy can deliver the pre-flight safety check, you’re in with a chance of impressing a lot of people.
