Well, that was until last week. With its release of its Christmas video stunt, WestJet has earned itself more than 25 million YouTube views about a week.
The video depicts what the airline has dubbed ‘real time giving’. Passengers on a flight spoke to Santa after checkin and shared their Christmas wishes, no matter how big or small. Once the passengers boarded, the WestJet elves got to work. When they disembarked at the other end of their journey, guess what was waiting at the luggage carousel?
With 25 million views from across the planet, this is brand marketing that no advertising could ever buy. It will possibly be the biggest Christmas viral video of 2013.
