1. THE BEGINNING

This innovation came to life when…

Chatting about attending Glastonbury. Multiple stages and mini festivals, thousands of people; how hard was it to find where everything was and when acts were on? How could I find the toilets or first aid tent when surrounded by heaving masses? Now imagine what it was like when night fell.

We realised a solution would be to create an augmented reality map so users could find out where everything was in direct relation to themselves. But we didn’t know the festival layout or timetable, the organisers did. We had to create a platform where anyone could create AR maps.

2. WHAT & HOW

The purpose of this innovation is to…

Allow anyone to create and share augmented reality maps.

It does this by…

Giving users a beautiful iOS app and web interface to create simple yet rich AR maps of literally anything.

3. PURPOSE & BENEFITS

This innovation improves on what came before because…

It lets creators of AR maps (we call them ‘Squizzes’) share their unique local knowledge. Someone knows the best hole-in-the wall bars in Soho; another knows the must-see spots of inner Copenhagen; a tour operator knows the famous landmarks of the French Revolution. All these people can now create Squizzes and share them with the world.

The benefits to the customer/end-user include…

An endless supply of user-created AR maps providing intimate, real, and up-to-date information and directions to places around the world.

4. COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE

In the past, this problem was solved by…

Maps! Maps are good, but they’re limited. There are also existing AR apps, but they tend to be very specific in the content they deliver.

Its predecessors/competitors include…

Heads Up Navigator, Wikitude, Junaio…

5. TARGET MARKET

This innovation is made for…

Event and festival organisers, tour operators, anyone who’s ever had to create a list of places to see for someone else, and anyone who’s ever needed a map of features or places to visit.

6. DISTRIBUTION STRATEGY

It is available for sale through…

The iTunes App Store (very soon). Squizzes will also be able to be made via our website, www.squizzd.com.

Our marketing strategy is to…

Have millions of downloads, of course!
