This innovation initially came to life when…

I was working in two jobs I wasn’t enjoying and became personally frustrated sourcing brand collaborations and partnerships. Tinder was becoming extremely popular at the time, and the rise of large brands embracing collaborations, (such as Uber’s collaborations with the Animal Welfare League to create ‘Uber Kittens’ ) inspired the launch of a ‘matchmaker for brands’ in Collabosaurus. It works just like a dating site to connect cool brands together for marketing initiatives and powerful cross promotions.

2. WHAT & HOW

The purpose of this innovation is to…

…enable brands of all sizes to expand, and have marketing impact with no budget. Not only do brand collaborations have a powerful, cross promotional impact, they have a domino effect that helps individuals grow a relevant network.

It does this by…

…connecting complementary brands together. Collabosaurus’ algorithm matches brands based on similar target markets and their ability to help each other grow through the exchange of marketing assets.

3. PURPOSE & BENEFITS

This innovation improves on what came before because…

…it’s a vertical to digital advertising that doesn’t rely on large conglomerates such as Google or Facebook, or require monetary spend to achieve results. Collabosaurus is also different to the ‘influencer marketing’ platforms because it is not reliant on Instagram for a brand to achieve influence. Rather, Collabosaurus recognises all marketing assets of a brand (email list, blog. etc.)

Its various benefits to the customer/end-user include…

…marketing exposure across multiple platforms (email, blog, media, social, event etc.), growing an individual’s network, saving research, pitching and negotiation time, providing legal agreement templates at a fraction of the cost to protect brands of all sizes within partnerships.

In the past, this problem was solved by…

…manually researching, reaching out, following up and negotiating with potential brand collaborators. The process was time intensive and often didn’t result in mutually beneficial arrangements.

…Social Diary, however this service is a newsletter based service (not a matchmaker) and limited to professionals working in publicity. Influencer platforms such as Hypetap are arguably similar, however Collabosaurus matches brands with brands (rather than brands with influential individuals).

Our marketing strategy is to…

…educate the market on the value of brand collaborations and inspire unique ideas (webinars, events, brand collaborations). We’ve already appeared in 37 media publications, and have an ongoing PR strategy. 60% of our sales currently come from our Instagram account, so we focus on utilising this platform in conjunction with our email marketing. Central to our strategy are brand partnerships!
