Do 9 out of 10 new businesses really fail in their first year? The answer is ‘No’. But it’s not all good news [PROMOTION]

2

It’s often said that nine out of 10 small businesses fail in their first year. However, according to credit reference checking agency Veda Advantage, only a very small percentage of new businesses close in their first 12-months. Less than two percent, in fact.

However, 32 percent close their doors between their second and fifth, while 21 percent wind up between the sixth and ninth.

Growing up can be hard.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Defy the odds — Webinar Series

This is why Anthill is developing a series of Webinars for 2011 — that will be educational, fun and help our readers defy the odds.

To kick things off, we’re partnering with Citrix GoToMeeting to explore the topic: “How to run a global empire in your underpants (Five Easy Ways to Appear Bigger than You Are)”

You might be a solopreneur or a 15 person upstart. You could be a medium enterprise well-practiced in the art of looking big. But we all know the fear.

Would they still take you seriously if they knew the real size of your organisation?

Discover fun tactics and technologies to “run a global business in your underpants”

A webinar is a live-interactive online seminar. Over a 45 minute presentation, we’ll cover.

  • How to avoid the three biggest mistakes that scream “amateur!”
  • Five inexpensive technologies that make you more money than they cost
  • How to maximise relationships when you’re countries apart
  • What to do immediately to make your story stand out
