Why SEO is just sooooo 2009. Is social media the future of internet search?
I used to Google hairdressers, plumbers, cafes. Now I ask my Facebook and Twitter connections who to go to, because a personal recommendation tells me a lot more than someone’s website can. SEO is doomed. In the format we know it, at least.

How I made Twitter my ‘dirty whore’ and got suspended
As a bootstrapping entrepreneur, I have very little patience for marketing campaigns that can't give me a definable and measurable result, which is why, I thought it might be helpful to write a post about how we, at Anthill, and I have personally used Twitter over the past 12-months for business related purposes.
Let me start with a confession.

The universe has never seemed smaller, thanks to this amazing digital recreation
Just in case you were ever wondering how insignificant you (and the entire planet earth) really are, this mind boggling digital recreation of the 'The Known Universe' will take you from the Himalayas through our atmosphere and into the inky black of space, all the way to the afterglow of the Big Bang.
Your votes are in. So what was Australia’s dumbest business decision for 2009?
Clearly, iSnack 2.0 and Westpac's banana smoothies left a strange taste in your mouth, while Mars and the Liberal Party delivered a wrong'un with their spin. Readers who don't take the world too seriously agreed with our pre-emptive request (to not take the report too seriously), while Virgin's black email generated enough annoyance to equal the sinking of Storm. Jackson Jive shimmied in to score your number eight vote, while the social media attempts of the big brands to attract your clicks failed to inspire you (once again). The Myer float scored the least votes at number 10 (perhaps due to the number of people who now own their own special parcel of this prestigious accolade).

Friendster spoof likens the barren social media site to a lost civilisation.
According to this satirical video from The Onion, archaeologists have found 'ruins' of a lost internet civilisation called Friendster. You can imagine how the owners of MySpace, Facebook and (still revenue-less) Twitter might not find this as funny as the rest of us.

New Fax-to-Twitter service proves there’s a Twitter app for everybody
It's hard to not watch this clip with mixed feelings. I'm so happy that Dorothy Miller, an 80-year-old grandmother, has found an easy way to avoid actual conversations with her yappy daughter. But using a fax to tweet... C'mon!
