What is the 30under30?

30under30 is an Anthill initiative launched in early 2008 to encourage and promote entrepreneurship among young Australians.

Each year, we invite our readers to nominate young Australian entrepreneurs deserving of recognition for their outstanding entrepreneurial endeavours. More.

Peter Marchiori, NSW (b. 1991)

Name: Peter Marchiori
Age: 26
Known for: Found

Peter started Found in 2015 based on his experience from his previous business, where finding and hiring great staff was a constant challenge.

Found is the first jobs platform in Australia to go fully mobile (it is 100% app based). It doesn’t require candidates to have cover letters or CVs, and every job can be applied for in a single tap. Employers have access to a database of close to 300,000 candidates across the country they can proactively search and connect with, which can speed up hiring by up to 10 times.

“I started my first business at 15; Found is my fourth. I’m always looking for better ways to do things, and believe that if you can solve a big problem for a big enough market, it’ll turn into a great business,” Peter told Anthill, about his business motivation.

“I’m driven by a desire to solve problems. There’s almost always a better way of doing things, the trick is finding something which impacts a lot of people, where you can make a big leap forward.”

Found has now signed up over 300,000 job‑seekers, and are processing over 250,000 job applications per month. The company has also raised $4.5m of capital, and is working with some of Australia’s largest companies. “We were the #2 jobs app on iOS over the last six months, and aren’t far behind Seek on a number of key metrics,” Peter remarked.

Anthill asks: Have you ever been lucky, punk?

My last business had great timing with the opportunity to work with Uber, at the time they were rolling out around the region. This was an opportunity which wouldn’t have existed six months earlier or later.
