Intellitrac, our parent company, found it difficult to keep track of jobs done remotely by a mobile workforce. We were unable to find a suitable program for our service technicians to communicate the status of their jobs and to capture any notes, parts used, photos, signatures and issue invoices. i-Dispatch was developed to cater for our requirement. Clients mentioned that they too had this business need and the program was then released publicly.

i-Dispatch allows clear and timely communication between businesses’ mobile workforces and their office. Therefore the office can see the status of all their jobs at all times. This enables workflow transparency and proactive job management.

It does this by…

Jobs are entered via a web-based portal. These jobs are allocated to a mobile worker, who receives an alert via the i-Dispatch app, on their smart phone or tablet device. They record details of the jobs progress, parts used, take photos, get signatures on their device and this updates the information back to the office.

3. PURPOSE & BENEFITS

This innovation improves on what came before because…

Previously mobile workforce job data came via paper job sheets, phone calls or SMS messages. Paper sheets are easily lost. Phone calls and SMS messages can be costly and do not provide a transparent audit trail. Offices were often in the dark as to when jobs were getting completed and if they were being completed on time.

i-Dispatch is easy to use. It removes the need for paper records which are easily lost, destroyed or overlooked. It centralises all job information and creates efficiency in a business.

Paper-based job sheets were the industry standard! In addition there were delivery dockets, separate receipt books maybe OH&S checklists or JSEM’s and service reports or quotes — all on separate pieces of paper. The only electronic solutions were high-end, industry specific solutions for large companies.

Historically any job-dispatching products available have been costly and industry-specific, requiring an investment in both software and hardware. While this is becoming a competitive space, many of the competitors are still industry-specific and cost-prohibitive.

Being a division of Intellitrac, we have prospected the Intellitrac client list. We have established a referral program with incentives for existing clients. In addition to this we have used the internet and social media to raise product awareness. We have advertised in business catalogues and most recently we have attended a IoT trade show in Singapore.
