This is the sage advice of John Winning, CEO of Appliances Online.
In 2005, John Winning decided that there was a better way to address a common problem – when a major appliance fails, it needs to be instantly replaced. Plus, the old one needs to be removed.
With this in mind, Winning launched Appliances Online. He’d already worked in the family business for many years so, he know a thing or two about fridges. And, he knew that outstanding customer service made all the difference to the business.
Appliances Online has since purchased its own delivery company, operates warehouses in every state and, has taken on the big, established players like Harvey Norman.
As a result, Winning is one of a new breed of Australian entrepreneurs.
This short video from the Macleay College Entrepreneur’s Forum shows the kind of thinking that Winning used to create his business.
He states that you need to have a lot of ideas and, if one fails, move on to the next one.
And, if you don’t like the rules of the industry you’re working in, change them!
