What is the 30under30?

30under30 is an Anthill initiative launched in early 2008 to encourage and promote entrepreneurship among young Australians.

Each year, we invite our readers to nominate young Australian entrepreneurs deserving of recognition for their outstanding entrepreneurial endeavours. More.

Jordan Fogarty, WA (b. 1990)

Name: Jordan Fogarty
Age: 27
Known for: Be Media

Be Media is a full suite digital marketing agency, mainly servicing small to medium sized businesses across industry verticals. Put simply, Be Media was born in 2013 out of Jordan’s frustration with the digital marketing industry more broadly.

“I was looking at key players in the space and found it disheartening how the industry operated,” he shared with Anthill, about the inspiration behind his founding of the company.

“With enough buzzwords and tech speak to bamboozle any business owner, and work that mostly was sub‑standard, I noticed a big gap in the market for a sophisticated, ethical digital marketing provider that would put its clients first.

“At 23, I started Be Media, based on the belief that things could be done better and clients should be able to rely on their digital marketing provider. I’ve trusted my gut, built a strong network around me and hired exceptional people who have helped me steer this company.”

Jordan further revealed that in just the short time they have been operating (a little over threee years), they have gone from a handful of staff, to just under thirty, and enjoyed a 400% average growth rate for two years in a row, in years 2 and 3 of business operations.

“It’s not just about the numbers, it’s the ‘proof of concept’ that shows our clients that we know how to grow, and we can help them do the same,” he remarked.

Anthill asks: What is your super‑power and why?

Communication. I feel I have a great ability to connect with all types of people no matter who they are or what their background is. I’ve had this “superpower” since I was a little kid and i think it comes through by just loving people and being curious, open‑minded and genuinely interested. I am a firm believer that you are only as successful as the depth of your connections and size of your networks with other people. Businesses are made up of people, people who care like I do and want to form genuine, meaningful connections with others.
