Drink and post responsibly. Oh, and stop panicking about the Facebook ruling.
For those who don’t know (which is pretty much everyone), the Australian Advertising Standards Bureau (AASB) recently made a ruling regarding user-generated content on social media, after it was discovered that the Facebook page for Victoria Bitter beer featured “sexism, racism, irresponsible drinking, obscene language and material that linked alcohol consumption with sexual or social prowess”. Apparently swearing at the TV and asking girls to “show some skin” is ok when you’re drinking VB, but not if you’re posting about VB, obviously.

Lightning-fast, pour-from-the-bottom beer dispenser has some classy clients [VIDEO]
The video for this fill-from-the-bottom beer dispenser has been sudsing up the Interwebs for about a year now. Yet, strangely, it has never reared its frothy head as one of Anthill's breathtaking (often thirst-inspiring) Beer O'Clock innovations. Sure, we've brought you this beer tossing fridge and Melbourne based Beer Vaults, but not this well-lubricated lubrication machine that can crank out more than 40 pints a minute from a four-tap dispenser.
Is theatre the future of retail?
For beer consumers, I imagine this innovation might be an enormous boon (personally, I'm a quantity over quality type of guy). However, I suspect that the real commercial advantage drawn from the Beer Vault might not be its capacity to expand beer drinkers' palates and prevent wastage.
Robot built to fetch inventors beer
The selection process for our weekly Beer O'Clock newsletter (The Best and Worst of Anthill TV) involves a surprisingly complex number of considerations, such as balance, educational content, local relevance, chuckle-factor and good taste. That's why it was pleasing to stumble across this short clip at 4:22 this afternoon (yes, only minutes ago). It's now that special time of day. So... enjoy.
Anthill made me do it
If you receive our weekly Beer O'Clock (the Best and worst of Anthill TV for the week) email on Friday afternoons, you might have noticed that it went out a little early last Friday - about 3pm. The truth is, we were pretty much done for the week, so we hit send and took our own Beer O'Clock advice.
And it seems we weren't alone.
Heineken knows its market
Beer companies typically know their market and don't mess with the message: Beer rocks! As this Dutch ad from earlier this year reveals, Heineken is no exception.
