Why does she know these rules? For starters, she’s the Director of Product Design at none other than Facebook.
Facebook’s ‘like’ and ‘share’ buttons are seen 22 billion times a day. Yes. A Day. That makes those buttons some of the most-viewed design elements ever created.
There are currently more than 1.2 billion users of Facebook. That correlates to half of all people using the internet. Or, another way of looking at it is, one sixth of the world’s entire population is a member of Facebook.
Well, in reality, I know of at least three cats with their own Facebook page, so perhaps that last number is a little inflated.
But, nonetheless, these mega internet businesses have to provide website that cater to the needs of their customers on a massive scale.
