What are the Anthill Cool Company Awards?

The Cool Company Awards were launched in 2006 as a way for Anthill to acknowledge and celebrate Australian organisations that are doing things differently to bring about positive change. Cool Companies stay one step ahead of the rest. They breed leaders who are rule-makers and rule-breakers. They are trend-setters in attitude and action. Quite simply, they are … cool! More.

Any business that can give value to a lifetime of experience is a cool company by any standards. Churchill Education is doing just that, and changing lives for the better in the process. Let the cool points flow forth!

After 16 years as a police officer, Randall Smith, co-founder of Churchill Education, was forced to leave his former career due to post-traumatic stress disorder. He and his wife/co-founder Tricia Velthuizen forged a pact to get well at all costs. The positive outgrowth of the life-altering situation is manifested in Churchill Education, Australia’s number one authority in the field of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

The process of converting Randall’s investigative skills and Tricia’s legal skills into qualifications that are meaningful in the real world spawned the concept of Churchill Education. The company is committed to developing a simple solution for converting skills earned in experience into qualifications for the benefit of unleashing career potential.

Churchill Education got off the ground in 2007 helping people with real job experience tap into their skills and know-how to remain competitive in the aggressive job market prevalent in the world today. The company helps users achieve this by moving past the “I just do it” mentality to casting their life’s work in an objective light for maximum recognition. The key evidence is then mapped according to academic standards, allowing a customer to “pass” the qualification without the need for spending a moment in a classroom.

And, the company is fully embracing technology in its efforts.

“We use new technologies to create an ease in our relationships, so the distance fades away … from the simplicity of virtual paperwork, to the magic of automating tasks and marketing, managing projects virtually and seamlessly, peaking into each others’ worlds through social media and membership sites, capturing moments in time to celebrate life on our smartphones, sharing great resources in video, online classrooms, and virtual magazine, creating inspiring and memorable content through webinars and killer iPad apps, to creating merriment through the talents of Fiverr and eLance … technology is helping us to be worthy of dinner party conversation,” says Velthuizen.

Churchill Education is doing the good work of changing lives. The company gets infinite cred for delivering recognition, confidence, and career security to its customers.

Say, I wonder if they have any formal certification for the years of experience that loosely qualifies me to be a sommelier, uh, so to speak?
