Jasmin Parasiers, 2014 Anthill 30under30 Winner

What is the 30under30?

30under30 is an Anthill initiative launched in early 2008 to encourage and promote entrepreneurship among young Australians.

Each year, we invite our readers to nominate young Australian entrepreneurs deserving of recognition for their outstanding entrepreneurial endeavours. More.

Jasmin Parasiers, SA (b. 1988)

Name: Jasmin Parasiers
Age: 26 (born 1988)
Gender: Female
State: SA
Known for: Intuition Tutoring Services

Jasmin Parasiers is the Founder of Intuition Tutoring Services, a South Australian company providing one-one academic assistance for students from Reception to Year 12.

And hers is the classic startup story.

The beginnings were humble. Jasmin started the company with money from her savings account.

Obstacles sprang up along the way. Notably, the rent was raised and Jasmin had to relocate her business and offset working in a smaller space with in-home tutoring.

Jasmin told Anthill that she was motivated to give students the kind of academic support that she — and many others coming up — take for granted.

“I want to give them the keys to success in education. In an ever changing and more complex system of standardized testing and highly content driven courses, I am motivated by the desire to assist students to learn skills that will help them become the engaging, challenging citizens out society needs,” she said.

And to round out her classic startup story, Jasmin says her inspiration came at a young age, on the wings of a chance opportunity.

“I was a teenager looking for after school work and I was offered a place mentoring a young boy. From this hobby, developed a passion for education and through word of mouth I have built up 10 years experience, tutored hundreds of clients and had countless successful students pass through,” she told us.

All that, and Jasmin still finds time to maintain a full-time teaching position at a school. Hero by day, entrepreneurial caped crusader by night.

Anthill asks: Jasmin Parasiers, what’s your super power?

Every student and parent has a story, my super power is managing to push aside my aches, pains and tiredness and recognize the vitality and spirit of their story.
