Attention Anthillian masses, here’s an opportunity for you to spread the word an upcoming happening like only you can.

It’s time for Vision Australia’s Texpo, which showcases the very latest technological solutions for people who are blind or who are experiencing vision loss.

The event will highlight tech offerings ranging from over-sized QR codes, to a small device that sounds a beep to indicate when a mug is full of liquid, and much more of benefit to the blind and/or vision impaired.

This year, Vision Australia’s specialist staff will run a number of workshops, including;

  • Master chef tech, solutions for creating in the kitchen
  • From magnifiers to high definition, an update on low vision technologies
  • Advancements in digital access, tablets and smartphones

“Products from Vision Australia’s Equipment Solutions, as well as key technology suppliers from Australia and overseas will be on display. Visitors will discover everything from electronic readers and braillers to mobile phones and computer access tools,” says Luisa Ferronato, National Program Manager for Equipment Solutions.

“In addition, Vision Australia staff will be on hand to talk to people about the services we provide. So if you or someone you know is experiencing vision loss due to aging condition such as macular degeneration or cataracts then this exhibition and open day is well worth a visit,” adds Ferronato.

The Texpo rolls into Melbourne on:

Friday 6 and Saturday 7 September

And the Texpo concludes in Sydney on:

Friday 13 and Saturday 14 September.
