“Last year, I began studying accounting at university. Within the first month, I was honestly ready to drop out, because I was uninspired and had absolutely no idea what my study was leading to, let alone whether I would actually like my job,” Future Accountants Network Co-Founder Robert Parton recently told Anthill.
“The Future Accountants Network exists to inspire and educate accounting students, and equip them with the soft skills required to be successful and find a job they are passionate about. We run monthly events and competitions to allow students to hear from the best in different areas of the industry and meet like-minded people.”
Along with Co-Founder Chris Hooper, Robert has found a receptive marketplace and, as a result, the company has met with resounding success. Of course, they’ve also had some pretty good luck along the way.
“Lady luck has blessed me several times… to say the least! For example, I once met a lady called Jenny Van Dyke,” Robert continued.
“I told her about my business, having no idea who she was. She eventually told me that she was a consultant and offered to introduce me to someone she knew in a high level role at CPA. As a result, I had a phone call the next week and secured my first official sponsor. This caused a spiral effect, firms started hearing about us and CA, their competition, even came on board too.”
Robert and Chris are doing good and changing the game for accounting students, and sustaining the industry. That makes Robert Parton and Chris Hooper a part of Anthill’s 2015 30under30!

I always try to be the nicest person in the world to everyone, I value aiming to be world-class and being resilient and outcome oriented. I believe by showing that I’m a very authentic, nice guy, with mega tonnes of enthusiasm, resilience and a willingness to listen and learn, people usually seem to like me and always want to help! Without the support from the people I’ve met, I wouldn’t be where I am today. So, I guess, I believe my super power is my ability to rally people behind me WHO want to help me succeed with my vision.
