1. THE BEGINNING

This innovation initially came to life when…

Grade 4 – Molly is working on quadratic equations and Bailey (who has a learning difficulty) is struggling to read the time, then there are those in between.

As a teacher, each and every day, my colleagues and I strive to allow students of varying abilities to be challenged at their point of need to reach their full potential. However, traditional approaches and first generation Edutech (built off of traditional approaches), simply don’t deliver in making this possible in a sustainable way.

2. WHAT & HOW

The purpose of this innovation is to…

…provide a sustainable way to differentiate, individualise and personalise learning. Allow students to transition from being dependant to independent learners. Facilitating deeper connections between students and teachers. Moving teachers from being the sage on stage to guide on the side.

It does this by…

…providing schools with a unique workflow, taking cues from project management techniques, best practice pedagogies, UX design, technology architecture, combined and honed with decades of experience in school change.

Flipping the idea that teachers have to be drivers of learning on its head. Building a connected community and movement where students have the ability to take control of their learning.

3. PURPOSE & BENEFITS

This innovation improves on what came before because…

Intentionally sheds the legacy of the “industrialised model of teaching”. Unlike other products, myEdOnline intelligently keeps some key familiar aspects of a teacher workflow, making it accessible to a wide range of teachers. Subtly driving behaviour towards more collaborative, personalised, teaching and learning. Even allowing students to become the educators for both their peers and teachers.

Its various benefits to the customer/end-user include…

Students challenged at their level of ability. Greater engagement in learning. Deeper connections between students, teachers and parents. Development of 21st century skills. Improved pathways for students beyond school. Reduction of teacher stress. Reduction in environmental impacts of learning materials.

4. COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE

In the past, this problem was solved by…

It hasn’t been in schools with traditional funding models. Some settings, with one or more of; lower class sizes, greater funding levels, the ability to set aside government mandated curriculum requirements and/or rare and exceptional leadership, have come close. However, with the pressures of politics, finding highly skilled people, funding, the list goes on… Almost all schools have not consistently.

5. TARGET MARKET

It is made for…

Students challenged at their level of ability. Greater engagement in learning. Deeper connections between students, teachers and parents. Development of 21st century skills. Improved pathways for students beyond school. Reduction of teacher stress. Reduction in environmental impacts of learning materials.

Educators and educational institutions passionate about differentiating, individualising and personalising learning. Particularly institutions that are trying to change their practice.

Primary target at this stage is primary and secondary schools. Year level groups 3-10 (though not excluding higher levels). Whilst this is the case any organisations that are moving to more personalised learning approaches can gain benefit from myEdOnline.

This is why we see institutions like University of Technology Sydney, Foundation for Young Australians, Voice Science (Speech Pathologist), Aboriginal Health College, Bush It (online training organisation) and many more using myEdOnline.

It is available for sale through…

  • Demo and free trial opportunities captured through our website.
  • Partner relationships with other Edutech companies such as SEQTA, Synergetic and SchoolPro.
  • Through 3rd party distributors.
  • Soon to be direct purchase through our website.

Our marketing strategy is to…

We are creating a content marketing strategy, built around compelling content that communicates values in tune with our vision. This is being coupled with strategic social media campaigns, community sharing of teacher resources, events such as EDUHackathons and ambassador programs with pre service teachers. We have strategic partnerships with larger edutech companies we integrate and attend conferences with.
