1. THE BEGINNING

This innovation initially came to life when…

Through personal experience and watching others use standard Windows-style computers and applications. Sending an email may seem easy enough, but users perform thousands of actions in a session; it takes around 15 mouse actions just to open a document! Most files we need are hidden: in sub-menus, behind other windows or in other tabs, scattered around your app.

As a professional designer I found the process time-consuming, tedious, uncomfortable, mentally wearying,

2. WHAT & HOW

The purpose of this innovation is to…

…overcome these difficulties. Everyone wants to be effective, in control, and more productive. For less time and effort We’re logging on, not signing an accord of nations! It could be so much easier.

It does this by…

…adding a wearable set of buttons for the user’s left(non-mouse) hand, for viewing or fetching (displaying) typical commands and tools for the mouse to execute or use (in 2 actions!).

Used separately, in conjunction, or simultaneously with a mouse/pointer, the efficiency, coherence and ergonomics of most tasks is dramatically improved. This modest solution has many benefits.

3. PURPOSE & BENEFITS

This innovation improves on what came before because…

Point-n-click methods are intrinsically flawed, too rudimentary for today’s software, and resistant to change.

The Mitten’s optional methods are not only superior but can be developed because they are software-encapsulated and require no support.

Its various benefits to the customer/end-user include…

Better visibility and access, intuitive methods, and a more efficient, coherent experience, helping you work quicker and easier, focussing on what you’re doing, not how, and achieving more for less.

4. COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE

In the past, this problem was solved by…

Better pointers, dedicated apps for new devices, screen tricks, or other technologies. But these avoid, not solve, the problem. A pointer is still a mouse, and software alone has limits.

Improved, simple methods, that work with existing apps, are the essential criteria for a genuine solution, which this product satisfies.

Various gloves, shortcut and macro devices, and newer gesture and voice technologies. Unfortunately, any one-to-one (press to do) system can never be more efficient, ruling out all these devices, and our patent applications retain priority thus far.

5. TARGET MARKET

It is made for…

Designers, engineers, programmers, architects, accountants and medium/large commercial organisations who will gain from incremental productivity gains, with customised functionality for higher numbers of personnel.

Designers? They’re everywhere! The chair you’re sitting in was probably designed by three!

It is available for sale through…

Late stage prototypes will be available for testing by interested businesses or individuals commencing in August 18. These may lead to orders but the immediate aim is obtaining funding for manufacture of a commercial MVP.

Our marketing strategy is to…

Synergy will be a major factor for an add-on like this. Affiliations with Autodesk Aust. invites evaluation and licensing by major developers and manufacturers.

Major construction, movie production enterprises employing 500-1000+ where productivity gains multiply, would be case-by-case; on-line sales and inbound marketing for smaller businesses and individuals.
