1. THE BEGINNING
This innovation initially came to life when…
I stumbled onto various threads of information over a number of years. These led me to the conclusion that there is a totally new of looking at the way we currently build power driven marine craft. The pointy bit at the front with a propeller in the rear are the entrenched way of looking at power driven vessels. The rules and the technology surrounding this design are well enshrined. For many years now I have been seeking, unsuccessfully, to validate my theories. Please refer on Google – “ShipCrunch:Crying for Innovation” as a part of my saga.
2. WHAT & HOW
The purpose of this innovation is to…
…break the now accepted design criteria and technology surrounding the design of power driven craft. Current technology has led to increased pollution and the need for supers sized craft to maintain the economic viability of the maritime industry.
It does this by…
…re inventing the design technology involved in the design of marine vessels. The only way we now have, with existing technology, to meet, economically, the increasing need for the transportation of goods and people is to design larger ocean going vessels. It is essential that we come up with a new technology to meet this growing demand.
3. PURPOSE & BENEFITS
This innovation improves on what came before because…
…it’s time to re visit the basic concepts we now use to design power driven craft. There are undeniable sign posts to the existence of this new technology.
Its various benefits to the customer/end-user include…
…a faster and more efficient means of transporting goods and passengers using our oceans as the highways. We may be able to free ourselves from the shackles of existing ports and super sized ocean going vessels.
4. COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE
In the past, this problem was solved by…
Initially moving from sail to power driven vessels. With increasing need for more capacity we simply increased the size of the vessels. At the time this seemed as the most logical and obvious solution. The possibility of a totally new technology to meet this increasing demand for capacity was, perhaps conveniently, overlooked.
Its predecessors/competitors include…
…such vessels super sized container ships, for cargo, and high speed trimarans and catamarans for short haul of passengers. Airlines have taken over the long distance transportation of passengers. Both of these solutions are now proving economically difficult.
5. TARGET MARKET
It is made for…
the global need for more efficient transportation of goods and passengers around the globe, and perhaps more importantly, locally. The shipping and airline industries are finding it more and more difficult to meet current, increased demands for their increased services. Rising oil prices and over crowded airports have driven both of these industries to seek solutions to their problems. It is clear however that it is the basic, now becoming out dated, design configuration and inherent limitation of both their crafts that need updating.
It is available for sale through…
…the licensing of the IP involved. Once the technology has been accepted, the construction of these new craft will be manufactured globally.
Our marketing strategy is to…
The building of a working prototype to demonstrate the viability and economics of the design. The use of the craft to transport goods and passengers at high speeds, safely will be used as a marketing tool. Its ability to travel from place to place at speeds not before thought of as being possible will be the marketing tool.
