Name: Emma Blomfield
Age: 30 (Born: December 1986)
Gender: Female
State: NSW
Known for: Emma Blomfield – http://emmablomfield.com

Emma Blomfield, 30, understood from an early age that she doesn’t like being told what to do. This was evident to her when she first started working as an employee, her entrepreneurial spirit kept shining through, until she decided to take the leap into the business world by starting up two businesses of her own: her online decorating business and The Decorating School.

Blomfield has built buzz by taking her decorating skills on the road via hosting workshops in retail stores in rural areas. The regional market is starved of interior design advice, so by physically showing up in a local store has helped her create buzz both online and offline.

Her book Home: The Elements of Decorating was released March of this year and it is so successful that at the time of writing of this article the book is sold out, but it can be pre-ordered for the next shipment date.

The release of her book didn’t come without challenges. It was a lengthy and tiring process that involved lawyers and starting the whole process over again with a new publisher, it took two and a half years to release it to the public.

Blomfield is motivated by all that entrepreneurship has to offer: her own satisfaction, ownership, flexibility, being in charge of her financial future, her growing network of other entrepreneurs, and helping and inspiring others.

According to the numbers, Blomfield has converted over 60% of her website enquiries this year into paying clients and she’s had a 6% conversion rate on sign ups for The Decorating School eCourse through newsletter subscribers. She also ranks as number one on Google for Sydney Interior Stylist.

Anthill asked Blomfield, what is your super-power?

“I have an astonishing ability to get shit done. Being efficient would have to be my best super-power. If something needs doing regardless of how menial or junior the task appears, I’ll roll my sleeves up and do the job. If you want something done, give it to me.”
