What is the 30under30?

30under30 is an Anthill initiative launched in early 2008 to encourage and promote entrepreneurship among young Australians.

Each year, we invite our readers to nominate young Australian entrepreneurs deserving of recognition for their outstanding entrepreneurial endeavours. More.

Known for: The Time Masons

You associate a lot of notions with time. There are time clocks, time stamps, time lines, and, of course, we all know that time is money. Now, to that list, one young Australian company is adding the phrase ‘Time Mason.’

What the heck is a Time Mason?

As the vision of Founder and namesake Rebecca Mason, The Time Masons is a Sydney-based startup committed to helping high achievers accomplish more each day by freeing up that most fleeting of all resources: time.

Rebecca came up with the idea for her business after arriving back in Sydney on the heels of four years in London, where she had capped off seven years of professional marketing experience. Back home running errands for her family, Rebecca decided to parlay her knack for saving other people time into a new startup. Thus, The Time Masons were born.

The Time Masons help busy people maximize each day. They help with everything from booking flights, to social media posts. A quick glance at The Time Masons website reveals that seemingly no task is too small, from ordering takeout to looking up old high school friends. The point is to help where help is needed, and that means tasks tackled by The Time Masons can help clients maintain their jet-setting lifestyle, while achieving consistent success in the business world.

For Rebecca, the work is rewarding, but not necessarily altogether easy – though her intrinsic motivation is clearly of the noble sort.

“The 18 hour days take a bit of getting used to, but plugging away at my business, the machine that will define me, my future, my finances, my network, the world, is all motivated and stimulated by my biggest investors, champions and motivators: my family,” Rebecca recently told Anthill.

“They galvanised me to be different, supported me to take (fairly big) risks, to jump and see where I land. So I’m paying them back by being the best I can be. Luckily for me, being an entrepreneur isn’t a job, it’s a horrifying kaleidoscope, that I wouldn’t trade at all.”

Founded just this year, out of Rebecca’s own pocket, The Time Masons is attracting clients and earning its founder accolades left and right. Rebecca has already taken first prize (a Lenovo Yoga Pro laptop) in a Shark Tank-style competition sponsored by Incubate and Lenovo, and she nabbed a $2000 prize at the Genesis program for startups.

Rebecca describes her business as “sophisticated, with quirks,” and that’s the kind of language we definitely understand around here. With that in mind, we are proud to announce Rebecca Mason as a 2015 30under30 winner!

Anthill asks: Rebecca Mason, what’s your favorite quote?

‘What’s the worst that can happen? Can you manage it or can you outsource the problem? Either way, don’t sit on it, just make a decision and get on with it’ ~ Ann Sherry
