This innovation initially came to life when…

I realised that most small business owners underestimate the importance of having a ‘business continuity’ strategy in place, in particular not having someone helping them to actively manage one.

WHAT & HOW

The purpose of this innovation is to…

MySecureOffice is an affordable, time-saving, easy-to-implement ‘big-business’ solution for any small to medium accounting practice that wants to secure its business critical data AND be able to continue operating in a disastrous situation.

It does this by…

Backing up vital business data to an off-site location and providing a ‘dashboard’ overview. Emergency contacts are actively verified on a regular basis. Contacts and diary entries are replicated for access in emergency. Users are prompted regularly to run disaster recovery plans; results are recorded. USB key holds the most critical user data and applications ready to use in emergency.

PURPOSE & BENEFITS

This innovation improves on what came before because…

It teaches the user what to do in the case of a disaster destroying or disabling the user’s business infrastructure. Instead of letting the user forget about the importance of backing up data and to know how and whom to contact in the case of a disaster, it constantly reminds the user about all these important pieces with minimal impact.

Its various benefits to the customer/end-user include…

Giving the user peace of mind about his ability to survive a infrastructure breakdown without losing:

  • billable hours/loss of income
  • corruption or loss of data

COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE

In the past, this problem was solved by…

Previously writing a BC plan document and to file it was the user’s only option. No service prompted the end-user if something went wrong, contacts were out of date, etc. This was a problem in particular for SMBs that couldn’t afford staff for this role. With MySecureOffice the end-user gets a lot of disaster recovery management functionality managed.

Its predecessors/competitors include…

Predecessors include the humble paper logbook sold at office suppliers and competitors to the market are iPhone based apps, online websites, Excel spreadsheets and sticky notes.

TARGET MARKET

It is made for…

All small to medium size businesses. In particular, businesses that can’t afford long hours/days of IT infrastructure downtime.

DISTRIBUTION STRATEGY

It is available for sale through…

Monthly subscriptions. The user can pick packages by size or functionality.

Our marketing strategy is to…

  • Network with business communities
  • Social media marketing
  • Placing articles in print media
