What is the 30under30?

30under30 is an Anthill initiative launched in early 2008 to encourage and promote entrepreneurship among young Australians.

Each year, we invite our readers to nominate young Australian entrepreneurs deserving of recognition for their outstanding entrepreneurial endeavours. More.

Janine Zappini-Rosa, QLD (b. 1985)

Name: Janine Zappini-Rosa
Age: 29 (born  March 1985)
Gender: Female
State: NSW
Known for: Simply Raw

Janine Zappini-Rosa’s company, Simply Raw, is disrupting the food industry. The company provides snack food alternatives for people with food intolerance and food allergies.

And with tasty offerings like the company’s lemon macadamia box and coconut rough box, Simply Raw is a welcome disruption.

Janine started Simply Raw in 2012, based on her own bad food experience.

“I got sick with an illness caused by food intolerance,” she recently told Anthill Online.

“I made it my mission to develop pure & healthy alternatives to most other food products with a focus on quality, flavour and nutrition. A product range that caters for all types of dietary restrictions, from gluten and lactose intolerance, to nut allergies, no sugar and plant based diets, free of GMO and preservatives, made with love.”

“The aim is to disrupt the food industry and provide healthy food alternatives to other highly processed food products on the market that will improve people’s joy in their life’s.”

The company started out as a homespun operation, but growth occurred rapidly over the ensuing months. Within a year, Simply Raw was reaching the national marketplace. With some revisions to its production and marketing efforts, Simply Raw was able to boost its revenue by 1000% in just five months.

Along the way, Janine’s company has been helped by private investors and Venture Capitalists.

“We are currently going through a fundraising round and have had great feedback and enquiries so far. However I wouldn’t call it persuasion as such. We are successful in our business, because we are true to ourselves and to what we stand for,” Janine added.

“We are not trying hard to sell to anyone, the business and our products sell itself. Facts, personality, products and culture are the most powerful assets we have in our business.”

With Simply Raw committed to the health and happiness of snack lovers around Australia, Janine Zappini-Rosa joins Anthill’s 2014 30under30 winners.
