Isobel Crumblin, 26, started Fly By Fun in 2008 at the age of 19 with a vision of becoming Australia’s most loved children’s entertainment company.
As a company, Fly By Fun is well on their way to fulfilling that vision, with over 8,500 parties and events to date. Crumblin and her team have put smiles on tens of thousands of children’s faces, with over 80 people working out of five capital cities across Australia, Crumblin’s vision of making people happy has come to fruition.
Fly By Fun isn’t your ordinary children’s entertainment company, “We take fun seriously,” says Crumblin. “We go above and beyond to ensure our entertainment is of the highest quality, and that our entertainers are well trained and experienced, so we can create happy memories for children across Australia.”
She is motivated by the impact she has on people’s lives; not just the children her company directly impacts, but the mums and dads, her entertainers, her management team and her partners.
Crumblin has built buzz by leveraging Fly By Fun’s exposure at all the events they get booked for, especially at large scale events they’ve worked, such as Westfield, Merivale and more. An entertainer will make their way around the room with an iPad getting mums and dads to enter into their monthly Fly By Fun competition to win a free party. This adds hundreds of people to their database and increases engagement on social media where the winner is announced.
The art of persuasion has helped Crumblin build partnerships with big businesses. It was a combination of being friendly, fun and personable, while breaking stereotypical business vibes at meetings, and balancing that with taking a serious, driven and confident approach to solidifying these partnerships.
Anthill asked Crumblin, what is your super-power?
“Being in a million places at once! The difficulty with running a business with people all over the country is not being physically there to motivate and drive them. So, my super-power is overcoming this by using technology to be everywhere at once.”
