Some airports randomly dislike umbrellas. (I’m looking at your airport screening at Coolangatta, QLD).
So, I’m wondering if this new type of umbrella will come under the same level of scrutiny, if it makes it into production.
The technology is currently in R&D, as explained in the video. And, the video is a little cheesy but, the initial goal of raising $10,000 was long ago eclipsed.
It looks sort of like an old-model Olympic torch and, it uses air flow to repel rain or snow. But, if it goes into production, this device is going to disrupt the umbrella market as it currently stands.
