What is the 30under30?

30under30 is an Anthill initiative launched in early 2008 to encourage and promote entrepreneurship among young Australians.

Each year, we invite our readers to nominate young Australian entrepreneurs deserving of recognition for their outstanding entrepreneurial endeavours. More.

Dan Siepen, NSW (b. 1993)

Name: Dan Siepen
Age: 24
Gender: MALE
State: NSW
Known for: Coder Factory

A first of its kind in the Australian market, Coder Factory has taught over 500 students through a U.S. style accredited coding bootcamp.

Dan Siepen gave life to this idea as well as arranged a network of professional partners who support the company’s growth in order to “supply more qualified, work-ready developers into the market,” he says.

This online academy offers a wide range of programs such as a full-time immersive program, part-time web app development course, as well as coding classes and workshops. Coder Factory also has programs for children and high schoolers.

The business prides itself on the ability to provide its students with all of the necessary skills they need to succeed in a tech career.

Dan’s second passion, writing, has made it easier for him to spread the word about Coder Factory. Writing for Business Insider and The Next Web is just one way Dan has made a reputation for himself in the startup community. He also runs growth hacking  and other entrepreneurial events.

Since establishing the business with his partner Pete Argent, Dan believes his business has been helping to solve a true problem in the startup world — “finding technical talent and advice.”

Being able to make this positive social change is what motivates him as an entrepreneur, Dan says.

Having a concrete motivator has kept Dan going when times have gotten tough. Dan says he’s faced challenges that would have made many others give up, but knowing the great impact his business can have on society, he wouldn’t dare step down.

This social change has also been made possible by Dan’s values. Resilience and persistence are his words to live by. By sticking to these principles, Dan and his company have been able to overcome obstacles and set themselves on the path to the future.
