This innovation initially came to life when…

I stumbled upon some published research work being undertaken by an overseas research establishment. Their research was not related directly to my invention but had direct application to what I saw as being directly applicable to my area of interest.


The purpose of this innovation is to…

…enable larger power-driven vessels to travel faster and cheaper. It will overcome the current limitation experienced by conventionally designed vessels.

It does this by…

…overcoming the effects of what is now referred to as hull friction. Currently designed vessels experience increased resistance to their forward motion as they increase speed. These effects will no longer be present with my design.


This innovation improves on what came before because…

…of the new design’s reduced resistance as its speed increases. This reduced resistance will enable craft to travel at speeds not before thought of as being possible. It will also reduce the fuel needed to propell vessels.

Its various benefits to the customer/end-user include…

Very much faster ocean going vessels. Vessels that will be very much cheaper to run.


In the past, this problem was solved by…

There are currently no vessels employing the concepts embodied in this new design. The concepts are totally new and have the potential to totally change the way we build and drive large ocean going craft.

Its predecessors/competitors include…

All vessels currently afloat will become superseded once this new design is accepted.

This new design has global application. The movement of all cargo will be affected.
