This innovation came to life when…

This innovation initially came to life following 25 years of research and designing of greenwalls and greenroofs by horticulturist and founder of The Greenwall Company, Mark Paul.

The EcoPillow came about because of a market need to use Australian landfill in an innovative way. It has an immediate benefit of not only natural beauty of the area covered, but more importantly each of the panels’ ability to reduce the carbon footprint.

Make a valuable contribution to the external environment by reducing water runoff, providing an inhabitable environment to promotes biodiversity.

It does this by…

Being constructed using 94% of the materials recycled materials that would otherwise be destined for Australian landfill.

As a pre-grown and fully encased product, the EcoPillow is incredibly quick to install and reduces the risk of failure from extreme weather conditions, wind scour or rain erosion.

3. PURPOSE & BENEFITS

This innovation improves on what came before because…

There really was no other option. These soil-less EcoPillows allow for greenroofs across to be installed without the need and expense for additional support.

The EcoPillow weighs less than 60kg/m2 planted, grown in and storm-saturated at 110mm depth (comparative substrate weight only examples are: soil up to 150kg/m2, sand up to 200kg/m2).

Greenroof EcoPillows incorporate Best Management Practice to reduce and often eliminate storm water runoff, saving money and environmental damage. They also:

  • reduce noise
  • create habitat possibilities
