If you’re like us, the first thing you thought when you saw the name “Bendelta” was, “What does it mean?” The name comes from the Latin word bene, meaning “good,” and the Greek word delta, meaning “change.” And as far as we’re concerned, change is always good, err…well.
Based in Sydney, Bendelta is a strategic advisory firm, specialising in helping organisations in the public and private sectors build capability and adjust quickly when change is called for.
“Traditionally, companies would focus on ‘strategy’ and ‘leadership’ separately,,” Bendelta’s Anthony Mitchell tells us. “Strategy consultants would deploy large numbers of analysts and deliver a complex solution that frequently didn’t get used. Leadership consultants got people to navel-gaze about their identity, without linking it to what the company’s strategic imperatives, providing no demonstrable ROI. Bendelta brings both together.”
Strategy without leadership is simply a plan that nobody owns. Leadership without strategy is directionless.
“The two of us (Anthony and co-Founder Natalie) decided we wanted to create a consulting company that wasn’t like other consulting companies – one that was true to our ideals of a firm that really focuses on making a difference to society, where there was no politics, where everyone would be treated like an adult, where anything was seen as achievable and where we would never let small size get in the way of big impact.”
“So we started in a tiny window-less office and two laptops and took it from there.”
