What is 30under30?
30under30 is an Anthill initiative launched in early 2008 to encourage and promote entrepreneurship among young Australians. This year saw a surplus of highly qualified entrants, so we thought we would highlight some of the bright and innovative nominees who just missed the Top 30 by a wink. If you’ve ever bought a suit off the rack that made you look like a child with a growth spurt, Joel Deakin emphathises.
The director of the online customised menswear business, George & King, is issuing a challenge to bricks and mortar shops.
“Our suits and shirts combine luxurious fabrics with personalised details to capture your individual character,” says Deakin.
Men can order suits that fit (refundable measurement services are available through local partners in Sydney) and get them at hard-to-beat prices.
George & King is as new and untested as can be, but early-stage funding is arriving and Deakin is projecting six months to repay its seed investment.
And Deakin knows test and persistence: he’s been a web developer since he was 14 [Editor’s Note: ! ] and used his developer’s income to pay for university and finance his gap year across the USA [Ed. Note: !!!! ].
