What is the 30under30?

30under30 is an Anthill initiative launched in early 2008 to encourage and promote entrepreneurship among young Australians.

Each year, we invite our readers to nominate young Australian entrepreneurs deserving of recognition for their outstanding entrepreneurial endeavours. More.

Jeremy Hansen, QLD (b. 1996)

Name: Jeremy Hansen
Age: 21
Known for: GlowBored

Jeremy dropped out of high school in grade 10 and launched GlowBored, a public relations and communications agency providing PR and marketing for the entertainment, lifestyle and fashion sectors.

He went on to launch The Talent Assembly in 2014 partner to GlowBored. They represent and manage digital talent (Instagrammers, bloggers, etc.) This business was at the forefront of the digital talent management movement, The Talent Assembly was one of the first agencies to offer these services.

“I’m best known as that 16 year old that dropped out of high school and started a PR agency. At first, the business started as a Youtube channel and from there I reinvented the business into what it is today,” Jeremy shared with Anthill, about his entrepreneurial journey so far.

“I think people really responded to that. I wasn’t formally trained, I don’t have a uni degree so I made things up and worked it out as I went along. I re‑wrote the rules and I think people responded to that.

“Honestly, I’m driven to deliver the best possible results for clients. Nothing beats opening a newspaper or magazine and seeing a client spread across the page ‑ and the competition nowhere in sight! That never gets old. Or getting home after a successful event and seeing all the news in the press and social media. That’s my motivation ‑ delivering the best results for our clientele, and being better than every other agency.”

Anthill asks: What is your super‑power and why?

I like to think that I have a killer business persona and that I am a really, really hard worker. When I started my business at 16 people thought it was a joke. I had to be the best, I had to be the best at what I did or we wouldn’t have worked! No one was going to take a 16 year old seriously so I had to be the best in the game and let the results speak for themselves. I have a killer business persona and I work hard. These are skills that have developed over the years.
