What is 30under30?

30under30 is an Anthill initiative launched in early 2008 to encourage and promote entrepreneurship among young Australians. Each year, we invite our readers to nominate young Australian entrepreneurs deserving of recognition for their outstanding entrepreneurial endeavours. More.

Jack Delosa, NSW (b. 1987)

Name: Jack Delosa
Age: 25 (Born: February 1987)
Gender: Male
State: NSW
Known for: The Entourage, MBE Education

Jack Delosa sums up his purpose in seven stately words: “Inspire freedom, enable greatness, change the world.”

In less decorative terms, he’s on a mission to shake up the education system as we know it.

Delosa has been fulfilling that mission through his networking empire, The Entourage, which continues to sprout success stories through its connecting of ambitious young guns with veteran business mentors.

“Entrepreneurship has never been something traditional education has done well,” he says. “We are giving young entrepreneurs a community and an education pathway where they can work on themselves and their business to hopefully go on to do something great.”

In hindsight, few will likely tell this university dropout that he’s any worse off for it.

Still only 25, he has proven himself to be the thinking man’s entrepreneur, knowing where to plant the seeds to yield the most persistent capital growth. Simply stated, if you don’t know the name Jack Delosa, you don’t know Australian business (and you definitely haven’t been reading Anthill).

The Entourage, which he runs together with MBE Education, now claims over 11,000 members in Australia. He also orgamises the annual ‘Unconvention’ for entrepreneurs under 40, with over a thousand in attendance at its Sydney and Melbourne locales this year.

Known for growing big by never spreading himself thin, Delosa is about to truly up the stakes with his educational model. Plans are in the works to touch down on American shores next year, with the launch a new Entourage chapter and Unconvention in New York in March 2013.

Of course, Delosa is no stranger to the global scene. He’s worked as a consultant with international brands like Microsoft and Virgin, and he also helped develop the curriculum for the Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship in South Africa.

Yet his next venture could resound deeper than anything to date.

“We are talking to multinational education providers about integrating The Entourage Education into their streams,” says Delosa, who estimates his model could reach students numbering in the hundreds of thousands. “It’s now about taking it all up a gear.”

Bold talk… and we love it! This is Delosa’s fourth year in the 30under30.
