1. THE BEGINNING

This innovation initially came to life when…

I arrived at the scene of a cardiac arrest (part of the ambulance team), and we began resuscitating the victim. Although there were 3 people standing around who had been trained in CPR, they were panicked, frozen and had forgotten what to do.

I realised there was a problem with traditional training. I sought to revolutionize the training world through immersive simulations which places students into an environment where it looks, smells and sounds like a real event. We are the only Australian company taking simulation out of the military and professional medical worlds.

2. WHAT & HOW

The purpose of this innovation is to…

We feel the best way to describe our service is through this short video:

It does this by…

We look at the current research in simulation and human factors and apply the theory in a creative and innovative manner to our courses. We increase our student’s adrenaline levels, bringing them to a state of fear, stress and anxiety so they will retain both the knowledge and skills we teach significantly longer than traditional forms of training.

3. PURPOSE & BENEFITS

This innovation improves on what came before because…

Before RFA the traditional way to learn first aid was by, listening to a trainer present 200+ dull slides.

RFA immerses participants in realistic-simulations of medical emergencies. Instead of learning the symptoms you see the symptoms. Instead of being told you will feel stress, you feel the adrenaline. Instead of discussing what it’s like to call 000, you call 000.

Its various benefits to the customer/end-user include…

Enjoyment, our students LOVE what we do!!! What other training provider uses pyrotechnics for EVERY First Aid course?

Team-building. participants are placed into high-stress situations for them to work together.

Retention of knowledge/skill proven to save more lives.

4. COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE

In the past, this problem was solved by…

The problem was students left First Aid classes with only the theoretical knowledge and lacked the ability to manage a crisis situation, communicate and exhibit leadership when the real medical emergency occurred. Unfortunately, outside the professional medical and military worlds this problem was not solved and I believe it cost people their life.

Its predecessors/competitors include…

Red Cross, St Johns, Premium Health, Emergency First Aid, CPR First Aid and others.

5. TARGET MARKET

It is made for…

Our target audience are schools, high risk industry, military and police forces, ambulance services, medium and large companies, banks and essentially any workplace which is looking for the highest quality First Aid training. We also offer other forms of immersive simulation training and drills, such as; self protection, fire and mass casualty.

It is available for sale through…

Our website, sales reps and corporate partners.

Our marketing strategy is to…
