French startup Le Wagon has arrived in Sydney and is set to launch its first coding bootcamp for aspiring entrepreneurs in Sydney this February 2018.

Since launching in Paris four years ago, Le Wagon has trained over 2500 students in 26 cities who have gone on to collectively produce more than 75 startups to date, including Kudoz, Skello and Regaind, which was acquired by Apple earlier this year.

What exactly does Le Wagon do?

Le Wagon is a on a mission to bring technical skills to creative people and support the Australian startup scene with entrepreneurial hub, Desk Space, a natural choice for Le Wagon to base themselves in Sydney.

Through its 9 week intensive coding bootcamp, Le Wagon equips students with the coding skills required to launch their own web product, create a startup, become a freelancer or find a job as a software developer, growth hacker or product manager.

CEO of Le Wagon, Charly Martin, believes Desk Space is the perfect environment for its ambitious students and is excited to replicate Le Wagon’s European success in Australia.

“The startup ecosystem is now booming in Sydney, it made sense for us to launch here and help local talents join the movement. We’re looking forward to seeing a strong contingent of entrepreneurial minds come together for our Sydney bootcamp. Desk Space not only offers a perfect space for the workshop, but is a creative hub of like-minded individuals who can all help each other. We couldn’t have hoped for a better environment for our students, “ Mr Martin said.

Owner and founder of Desk Space, Steven Arthur, is excited to have Le Wagon joining their network and is also thrilled about the opportunities Le Wagon is providing entrepreneurs and early stage startups.

An entrepreneur himself, Steven is thoroughly invested in seeing other entrepreneurs succeed and has committed to offer a selected student from Le Wagon a 20k cash contribution to bring their startup to life once completing their coding bootcamp at Desk Space.

To further nurture the budding entrepreneur, Steven will provide the student with free rent at Desk Space for up to six months, along with advisory support, including venture design and financial feasibility. When ready, Steven will introduce the startup to relevant investors and assist in seed round funding (an offering valued at $100k in total).

“We have a lot to learn from Le Wagon and in turn a lot we can offer its students. As a growing hub of driven industry leaders, we’re looking forward to fostering and encouraging the next generation of successful startups to come from Le Wagon, as well as equipping one student with $100k worth of support and mentorship to guide them from the initial idea to seeding stage,” Mr Arthur said.

Le Wagon will be joining the likes of Deliveroo, Yieldify, :Different and Maxwell Forest, who have all called Desk Space home over the years.

In the next year, Le Wagon expects to train another 2000 students and looks forward to continuing its global expansion, with 10 new locations across Asia planned to open in the next year alone.

Applications are now open for the next 9 week coding bootcamp at Desk Space beginning February 5th, 2018. To register, please visit: https://www.lewagon.com/sydney
