Imitation is meant to be the sincerest form of flattery. But would you be flattered if someone copied you, or your business? We live in a world where original ideas are rare and people and businesses are increasingly comfortable in taking others ideas. But copying a good idea alone, is not usually enough for success.
An idea should improve on what is currently available, or by the time it is ready for market, it will already be behind. Alternatively implementing an idea in a new market can offer some opportunities for improvement.
Flattery might be a compliment, but rather than copy an idea, take it to the next level and improve it.
