What is 30under30?
30under30 is an Anthill initiative launched in 2008 to encourage and promote entrepreneurship among young Australians. This year’s batch of nominees was extensive and impressive. So much so that we believe several young talents who didn’t snag 30under30 top honours still deserve your attention and recognition. We call them our Up-and-Comers. More.

When Finn Kelly wrapped up a career as an Army officer, he knew the world of finance was his next challenge. He became an investment day trader while he cogitated on what his next step would be.
At a conference of young professionals, he met Sarah Riegelhuth, who had logged experience working in her family’s financial services business. The two became partners in Wealth Enhancers, a boutique advisory practice that targets private banking clients.
After 14 months of operation, Wealth Enhancers has five employees and about $25,000 in monthly revenue. It recently branched out from Melbourne to Sydney, setting up a relationship manager in the latter. Kelly says he always thinks in the long-term, acting as if he’s the CEO of a business 10 times larger.
In 2010 and 2011, Kelly was nominated for the Association of Financial Advisers Rising Star of the Year Award. In 2011, he was one of three finalists for the Money Management Young Achiever of the Year (Funds Management) Award and recently was shortlisted for the 2011 AFA Excellence in Education Award.
During his time as a day trader, Kelly met the managing director of an international investment bank. The man said he would mentor Kelly in the investment biz, then, Kelly says, was impressed when the young man took a side-step and opened his own firm. Earlier this year, the banker became one of Kelly’s clients.
Wealth Enhancers targets one of its top client bases — medical practitioners — by holding financial management seminars with medical graduates. Kelly said the seminars not only attract future doctors but earn the appreciation of existing practitioners.
“I love to bring my friends along for a wild ride as they are family to me,” Kelly says. “I love what I do — helping people and empowering them to create a secure financial future — the same future to which I aspire. I love being part of something big.”

“I have a strong self-belief, which seems to project when I am dealing with others. More often than not, I socialise in circles older than me. However, I hold my own with no problem.”
