1. THE BEGINNING

This innovation initially came to life when…

Link Group and Cbus, one of Australia’s largest industry super funds for the building, construction and allied industries, identified an opportunity to develop a bespoke app focussed on the unique needs of small business employers. Launched in November 2016, the app is a unique, first-to-market initiative, allowing employers to securely add new employees and manage super payments from the convenience of their mobile instead of relying on manual or desk-bound methods.

2. WHAT & HOW

The purpose of this innovation is to…

The Cbus Employer Mobile app developed by Link Group allows employers to manage super payments via their mobile, instead of paper-based alternatives.

It does this by…

Businesses add new employees by scanning their ID to automatically pre-fill and match member details. Super contributions are made with the tap of a screen, PDF receipts are easily created, and business details can be updated anytime. The app login is highly secure and only requires a four-digit pin or fingerprint bio-metric technology once the account is verified.

3. PURPOSE & BENEFITS

This innovation improves on what came before because…

This innovation is a first of its kind to target employers and there is currently nothing like it in the superannuation market. By improving the relationship between employers and Cbus, and driving employer engagement, the app is setting a new standard in the super industry.

Its various benefits to the customer/end-user include…

Users of the app can now perform previously desk-bound, time-consuming administration tasks quickly and seamlessly via a smartphone. Given the nature of the industry, mobility is crucial, and the app now allows employers to interact with their super fund in a simple and secure manner, no matter where they are.

4. COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE

In the past, this problem was solved by…

A manual process or by requiring employers to perform these tasks via a desktop.

Its predecessors/competitors include…

As a first-to-market, this app is unique in that there are currently no other mobile apps targeted specifically to employers in the industry super funds sector.

5. TARGET MARKET

It is made for…

The Cbus Employer Mobile app is designed primarily for small businesses employing less than 20 staff. This demographic makes up 97% of Cbus’ total employer base and has the potential to transform the way businesses interact with their super fund.

It is available for sale through…

The app is available at no cost to Cbus employers and is available for download on both Android and Apple smartphones.

Our marketing strategy is to…

Link Group will work in partnership with Cbus to continue to build awareness and usage of the app.
