1. THE BEGINNING

This innovation initially came to life when…

I recognised that entrepreneurs need daily meditation so they can have clarity, focus and productivity, but usually they don’t like it much and rarely stick to it because their heads are too full of thoughts. I wanted to find a solution that would attract them so much that they would keep coming back voluntarily, without me having to persuade them that it’s good for them.

2. WHAT & HOW

The purpose of this innovation is to…

…help entrepreneurs stay at the cutting edge by having a constant flow of personal energy, clarity, productivity, inner peace and creativity. Ultimately to replace a life of “surviving the never-ending to-do list” with a life they enjoy and love.

It does this by…

…bringing them together online in the early morning (6am, available 7 days a week) for a 30 minute live “activation”. It’s an audio experience which combines meditation, relaxation, a new topic every day and “inner learning”. It uses the ancient Chinese technique of “energy transmission” to deliver a positive internal experience that influences the rest of their day.

3. PURPOSE & BENEFITS

This innovation improves on what came before because…

…it relaxes people deeply, like regular meditation, with the addition of a daily topic, suggested by a participant. This makes it relevant to business and the energy of the day and helps to maintain a light mental focus and avoid excessive thinking. Being live and early morning appeals to entrepreneurial aspiration to be up early and on top form.

Its various benefits to the customer/end-user include…

…improving focus and mental clarity; increasing performance and efficiency; providing better quality sleep and relaxation; recharging energy; maintaining better health and well-being; directly connecting people with inner peace, joy and love so they experience more of them during the day.

4. COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE

In the past, this problem was solved by…

…meditation and relaxation classes which take time to attend in person; meditation apps and recordings which usually focus on technique more than outcome and become boring and repetitive for some; hypnosis recordings which can make you feel out of control; personal development courses – but I find people are looking for a time-efficient service.

Its predecessors/competitors include…

…headspace.com which teaches meditation in 10 minutes a day; local meditation teachers in gyms, yoga centres, community centres; a very wide range of online meditation courses and classes (including mine); mindvalley.com which presents online courses by high-profile teachers.

5. TARGET MARKET

It is made for…

…Australian entrepreneurs, and small andm edium business owners. The early adopters are people who’ve done some personal development, try to keep fit and stay healthy and value their family life as well as their business. In 2011 there were approximately 1.25 million small and medium sized businesses that had survived the previous 5 years. Approximately 83% of these were services businesses. I can break those down into different niches (accountants, real estate agents etc) and use early adopters to educate the rest.

It is available for sale through…

…a monthly paid membership, which allows access to the recording of the day (hosted on a learning platform). Live attendance will always be free.

Our marketing strategy is to…

…ask participants to share it with a friend or colleague on a regular basis at the end of the live session; feature participant stories in PR via entrepreneur magazines and media channels; partner with entrepreneur training programs, and more.
