What is 30under30?
30under30 is an Anthill initiative launched in early 2008 to encourage and promote entrepreneurship among young Australians. This year saw a surplus of highly qualified entrants, so we thought we would highlight some of the bright and innovative nominees who just missed the Top 30 by a wink. Andrew Craig’s Computer Empire is the stuff of every nerd’s dream: a business founded on one man’s expertise in fixing up and reselling computers.
In 2001 (yes, he was just 18), Craig was selling to university students out of a townhouse garage.
Computer Empire has since moved near Brisbane’s CBD, forged a partnership with repair specialist SuperGeek, and achieved annual turnover of $2 million.
The story, however, doesn’t end there: to stay ahead of the competition, Craig is shifting focus by emphasising his company’s IT business services.
The new Empire, he says, “will provide customers with a single point solution for IT equipment, Cloud & Web Solutions, IT Helpdesk services, Onsite & Remote support services all backed by the industry’s best customer service.

I am motivated by the amazing freedom and opportunity being entrepreneur delivers. On a personal level, I am motivated by being an entrepreneur as I have control of my future and will be able to provide for my family in a special way and do amazing things in business and life.
