Pozible announces 20 million reasons to say thank you to amazing projects and pledge givers!

Almost four years after Pozible was launched by Alan Crabbe and Rick Chen, as a boot-strapped startup, the crowdfunding platform has reached a milestone: $20 million AUD in pledges for its campaigns.

This milestone has been achieved across almost 6,000 projects that have been hosted on Pozible since the crowdfunding platform opened for business in May 2010.

“Things were tracking along well but the launch of IRL Shooter’s latest projectLazarus, has seen us reaching this milestone before we anticipated,” said Crabbe.

Having achieved more than $100,000 in pledges only a few days into launching, Lazarus has hastened Pozible’s $20 million (AUD) milestone, but is just one of many projects that have been draw- ing in a groundswell of support to the crowdfunding platform.

A few of the other projects that have attracted a huge amount of attention in the last few weeks, include:

Gnome & Bow: Story-telling Bags  – This men’s bags and accessory label from Singapore, is Pozible’s largest ever fashion campaign, attracting more than $30,000 in pledges with a week to go.

Tsuno  – This social enterprise business by a young Melbourne Industrial Designer is for environmentally friendly sanitary pads that will contribute 50% of its profits to the International Women’s Development Agency.

Community Castle – A Dandenong West Primary School has crowdfunded to build a safe space in their school where local men can work with children and share skills as mentors and role models. 

Pulse – A Perth feature film about a disabled boy who transforms into a beautiful young woman to find his place in the world.

“As more people and organisations become familiar with Pozible and crowdfunding, the more that we’re seeing support increase for amazing projects,” said Crabbe. “It’s an exciting time to be working in this space.”

Pozible now generates more than $USD 1 million a month in pledges, is the largest crowdfunding platform in the Asia-Pacific Region, and one of the largest platforms in the globe.

With a 56 per cent success rate, Pozible has distributed more than $17 million to successful project creators since its launch.

Crabbe is thrilled that it continues to lead the way with successful projects too. “One of the major focuses of Pozible as a brand, is a commitment to offering our project creators a strong support base, with many opportunities for them to attend workshops, training and network- ing opportunities,” he said.

“We are thrilled that this reflects in all of Pozible’s results, and that the success rate of campaigners in Australia who use Pozible, is double that of our competition,” Crabbe continued.

  1. Film: which has received more than $5 million AUD in pledges
  2. Music: $3.8 million AUD in pledges
  3. Performance: more than $2 million AUD in pledges
  4. Community: $1.7 million AUD in pledges
  5. Art: $1.4 million AUD in pledges
