You are probably aware of The Pitch on ABC’s Gruen Transfer. Each week, two agencies are given what seems like a crazy or impossible brief. Each agency responds to the brief with an ad then, industry experts judge the results.
A few weeks ago, Melbourne agency Sense Advertising was involved in The Pitch to create ‘an ad that bans advertising’.
The result shows that advertising can sell anything, even ‘banning advertising’.
Whether you agree with the statements made in the ad or not, this is a remarkably engaging, thought provoking and unnerving.
Needless to say, it won the pitch.
