The Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA) has announced, in a ceremony held in Sydney, the winners of the 17th Annual AIMIA Awards.
Over 600 industry leaders gathered to witness the 17th Annual AIMIA Awards ceremony held in Sydney and hosted by Adam Spencer last Friday.
The ceremony distinguished several companies and their projects in various categories, with the Commonwealth Bank Australia Property Guide winning three awards including the Best of the Best category. This year’s Outstanding Contribution Award went to Oliver Weidlich, one of the founders of the AIMIA Mobile Industry Group and co-author of the Australian Mobile Phone Lifestyle Index.
Many of you here tonight have led the way with your own digital efforts, showing how digital should be done and done well and providing inspiration to others,” said AIMIA CEO John Butterworth in his opening speech.
“More than just the annual celebration of talent and innovation and a pat on the back for various jobs well done, the AIMIA Awards helps breed confidence,” he added.
Since its foundation in 1992, AIMIA has been committed to the development of the interactive media industry in Australia and one way of supporting innovative companies is by recognising them in the Annual AIMIA Awards.
“Innovation is rarely an accident,” said AIMIA Vice-President Peter Bray. “The great innovative companies have two things in common. Firstly, they managed to structure the process of innovation. Secondly, the culture of innovation is bought into at the very top levels. Without these two elements, innovation fails.”
