1. THE BEGINNING

This innovation came to life when…

About 18 months ago, one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies approached Evado hoping that we may find a solution to a vexing problem of using mobile devices in the outback. After talking to the big pharma we had a visitor who needed to access four different applications to achieve one outcome. Evado’s Ross Anderson then designed a technological solution that is capable of handling an unlimited number of different page layouts simultaneously, regardless of what platform they are running on. Prior art searches confirmed that there was nothing in the world like it and the international patent was recently lodged.

2. WHAT & HOW

The purpose of this innovation is to…

Provide a single device app that is capable of integrating via a web service into multiple applications, whilst taking advantage of the devices intelligent features.

It does this by…

Evado’s innovation is a standardised mobile device client app that is suitable for a wide variety of mobile platforms including Mac, Android and Windows operating systems, and software development architecture that integrates hosted applications in mobile client environment.

3. PURPOSE & BENEFITS

This innovation improves on what came before because…

This product separates the device client from the hosted application environment by using a standardised interface between the application and mobile client.

This provides the hosted application with complete control of the client and access to the local devices intelligent features and allows new features to be added to the mobile device environment without having to update the mobile client.

The benefits to the customer/end-user include…

  • The hosted application can be developed and tested independently of the mobile clients.
  • New features can be added to the mobile application environment.
  • The architecture enables multiple applications to be integrated into a common mobile application environment.

4. COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE

In the past, this problem was solved by…

Currently this functionality is provided by: developing large complicated mobile applications or forcing people to use multiple applications to perform their business function. This innovation enables a company to provide a single mobile application environment to deliver multiple business applications.

Its predecessors/competitors include…

Competitors develop multiple applications that need to be updated each time new features are to be rolled out to end-users. Our approach makes Evado’s universal client unique.

5. TARGET MARKET

This innovation is made for…

  • Systems integrators to provide integrated mobile application architecture.
  • Business application developers, to provide a platform for integrating their applications with the mobile users.
  • Existing Evado clients who wish to use one application for all of their devices.

6. DISTRIBUTION STRATEGY

It is available for sale through…

This product will be sold via a VAR channel as a standard device client, and a software development environment for integrating the architecture with hosted applications. It will also be sold directly to existing Evado users.

Our marketing strategy is to…

We are launching on our stand at the DIA conference in June, with a PR and digital media campaign, and then beginning a roll-out to existing and new VARs to implement and sell to their networks.

    Neta Litre Meter (SMART 100)

A need became apparent during water restrictions in Australia. Water authorities now apply water restrictions in litres per day. There was a need for a product which measures litres and provides easy monitoring and control of water usage outside of the home. The Neta Litre Meter was co-developed by two Australian companies. In addition, a litre-based watering method was included to help save water. It provides an easy guide to the correct amount of water to use on the garden. This further enhances the benefits of the Neta Litre Meter. The guide is included on packaging and promotional material.

    iFindConsultants.com (SMART 100)

I accepted a consulting assignment to help an ASX 100 organisation improve the way its staff sourced and selected external service providers. I was astounded at the difficulty and inefficiency staff faced in simply trying to work out which Service Providers in the market had the ideas, experience, capability and availability they needed. It went beyond business managers being frustrated at wasting time. The organization was at significant commercial risk from poor process and selection. Ironically, service providers were still struggling to find good clients. It didn’t make sense. When I realized this was common across industries, the penny dropped.

    Q (SMART 100)

I developed an interactive touch-screen system for a food outlet that I owned. The aim of the system was to entertain my customers whilst they waited for their order. The system interleaved in-store advertising in between the ‘entertainmentʾ. My now business partner was a smallgoods representative that serviced the store. He saw the product and, seeing the possibilities, we quickly formed a partnership and collaborated over many years to develop the Q In-Store Advertising System with Now Serving module.
