Dr Robin Batterham has one of the toughest jobs in Australia. He is Australia’s Chief Scientist. But what exactly does that mean?
According to the job description, Dr Batterham’s mandate involves providing advice to the PM and his Ministers, instigating and overseeing reviews and reports on science, technology and innovation matters and forecasting their potential affect on national goals. This also means chairing and attending a number of consultative panels and councils.
