This innovation initially came to life when…

We started buying quite a lot online and got sick of it being left in the weather, or wasting time chasing missed deliveries. I found the solution in the US but when I bought three of their top sellers they only took tiny parcels.

Being an engineer I set out to design my own and ended up with a design that was world leading, so patented it in 2012 and quit my job to commercialise it.

However, we had to halt the project while researching and fighting my wife’s aggressive stage 4 cancer, but fortunately we emerged successful on both fronts!

2. WHAT & HOW

The purpose of this innovation is to…

…provide a solution to the “last mile parcel delivery problem” generated by on-line shopping, which continues growing at 10 per cent each year. Many companies have work-arounds, but the ultimate solution is to get parcels at home, same as your mail.

It does this by…

…providing a secure place for parcels to be delivered at your house, in the same way letters are. Proof of delivery is enabled by a 128 format bar code serial number on each unit. The front door has a letter slot and opens the patented chute mechanism to allow multiple parcel deliveries securely. We have styles for all homes.

It has high space efficiency (ratio of parcel volume to unit volume), is available in a range of types for integrated installation with popular styling and uses otherwise wasted space to store your parcels.

…extending the faithful letterbox’s capabilities to solve the parcel delivery problem. Large parcel capacity means most deliveries can be received at home, avoiding the cost and time wasted picking up parcels from holding services and post offices.
