What is the 30under30?

30under30 is an Anthill initiative launched in early 2008 to encourage and promote entrepreneurship among young Australians.

Each year, we invite our readers to nominate young Australian entrepreneurs deserving of recognition for their outstanding entrepreneurial endeavours. More.

Guy Pearson, NSW (b. 1983)

Name: Guy Pearson
Age: 29 (Born: December 1983)
Gender: Male
State: NSW
Known for: Practice Ignition

Within five years, Guy Pearson has gone from being a mid-tier accountant to an entrepreneur with three businesses under his belt.

“Practice Ignition is a new medium to manage the relationships between accountants and their clients,” Guy describes his second business, which he started in 2011.

“My passion for changing the accounting world is second to none, with the primary goal being better information for small and medium size business owners to better effect GDP.”

Guy revealed to Anthill that since last entering the 30under30s, he has removed himself from the day to day running of Interactive Accounting, another accounting business he co-founded before Practice Ignition, though he is still a shareholder director there.

He said the business, which earned him an honourable mention at the 2012 30under30s, has continued to near double revenues and recently opened offices in Melbourne.

Guy has also kicked off his third business, Your Modern Practice in Sydney/Newcastle.

He further revealed that he has managed to bring on Craig Winkler, one of Australia’s best investors, as a lead external investor in the beginning of 2014 after a chance meeting.

On what drives him as an entrepreneur, Guy remarked, “My personal belief is utilitarianism – greatest good for the greatest number, crudely speaking. I want to change the world for the better and give myself the ability to have the option to help others.”

He also shared a quote by Bruce Lee, “To hell with circumstances, I create opportunities.”

Anthill asks: Guy Pearson, what’s your super power?

Like Ironman, I have the ability to build anything and constantly improve it.
