What’s not to like? A charity ad that does just about the impossible [VIDEO]

Talk about brilliant advertising. And, it’s made by Judd Apatow, who you may remember as the producer of such films as The Cable Guy, Anchorman, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Superbad and many, many other.

This single ad from the American Jewish World Service (AJWS) raises awareness, will probably raise some money and also manages to take on racial stereotypes and tackle anti-semitism. That’s a big ask of anything, but AJWS manages it.

Without a doubt, comedienne Sarah Silverman owns the video. Plus, Patrick Stewart lands a line you won’t see coming. With appearances from Ben Stiller, Don Johnson, Helen Hunt, Jerry Seinfeld, Lindsay Lohan and so many others, this has got to be one of the most entertaining ads ever for a non-profit organisation.

AJWS is a global charity that is amongst the first to respond in times of international humanitarian crises. As a charity, it does exceptional work.

This ad helps set the record straight in so many ways. For example, contrary to popular belief, “Downloading the Angry Birds apps is not charity.” Thanks Susan Sarandon, for that golden insight.

And, as it’s Friday afternoon, to our Jewish readers, gut Shabbos.
