Leading Australian tech and co-working hub, Tank Stream Labs launched a “Shark Edition” of the Seed Money event where four tech startups pitched to a panel of sharks including Tank Stream Labs Entrepreneur in Residence and Channel 10’s, Shark Tank panelist, Andrew Banks.
The panelists also included Edwina Sharrock, Birth Beat founder and Tank Stream Labs & Slingshot HCF Catalyst Program Alumni who will be featuring on the final episode of Shark Tank and James Willis, owner & founder of The Mason Baker, who appeared live in Shark Tank and received investment from Andrew Banks and Naomi Simson.
What is Tank Stream Labs looking to achieve with this?
Tank Stream Labs COO, Yaron Rudman, said the event was designed to provide its members and networks the opportunity to pitch their businesses to leading Australian entreprenuers, refine their pitch to potential investors while at the same time getting feedback that may be vital to the success of the business.
“We invited start up businesses across our members and networks to submit a 10 slide pitch for consideration and four businesses were selected across a range of sectors to pitch on the night,” Yaron Rudman added.
This event was also an opportunity to hear from Tank Stream Labs Alumni and Birth Beat founder Edwina Sharrock who successfully attracted a $200,000 investment from Boost Juice founder Janine Allis for a 10% stake in her business.
“The success of Edwina and Birthbeat has been incredibly inspiring story for Tank Stream members scaling up their own businesses and beginning to pitch to investors,” Yaron Rudman said.
