What is 30under30?
30under30 is an Anthill initiative launched in early 2008 to encourage and promote entrepreneurship among young Australians. This year saw a surplus of highly qualified entrants, so we thought we would highlight some of the bright and innovative nominees who just missed the Top 30 by a wink. Known for: Boost Mobeel Perth
Daniel Ashton worked his way up the Boost Juice ladder, eventually running several of their Perth stores. Then he realised: if his customers couldn’t come to Boost, he would make Boost come to them.
Ashton’s Mobeel (as in auto, hence the spelling) brings the signature fruit smoothies to school, corporate and entertainment events.
The idea was a hit with the company board, and it’s worked so well in Western Australia that gross sales have doubled each year since its founding in 2007.
“I got involved in Boost Juice because it’s a fresh, bright and positive business,” says the 27-year-old Ashton, who once struggled to secure financing for Boost stores because of his age.
He has since used media PR to his advantage, most notably an episode of Undercover Boss that lifted the Mobeel into the mainstream. Ashton reveals that his concept will soon be franchised to the east coast.

Anthill asks: Daniel Ashton, what motivates you as an entrepreneur?
I’m always thinking how can we improve our systems and procedures. When I achieve my goals I’m thinking, how can we do this bigger and better! However in all of my activities I make sure I’m honest and trustworthy do that little bit extra so that other people enjoy working with me and remember me.
